Cognac region
Henri Cognac is made in Cognac, France, and recognised by the French appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC). Made with the finest crus, it is produced in the surrounding wine-growing region in the departments of Charente and Charente-Maritime.
Boutique distillery
Henri Cognac stems from a boutique cognac distillery in France. It is twice distilled in copper pot stills and aged for at least five years in French oak barrels at a very high alcohol by volume (ABV).
Quality standard
Henri Cognac is a Very Superior Old Pale (V.S.O.P) cognac. Over the years the alcohol interacts with the oak barrel and the air, and excess ABV is shed. Locally this is called “la part des anges”, the angels' share.
